Iit Roorkee Expelled Students

IIT-Roorkee has taken back all the 18 students, belonging to socially backward castes, who were recently expelled for under-performance in their first year B Tech examination, days after the Union HRD Ministry asked the institute to reconsider its decision.

The education ministry has asked IIT Roorkee to reconsider its decision to expel ten first-year BTech students belonging to backward castes for underperformance following which its senate will take a call tomorrow.

The IIT-Roorkee students who were recently expelled for under-performance by the premier institute, were today allowed to appear in a re-examination following court's order.

With IIT Roorkee deciding not to revoke the recent expulsion of 73 of its students for underperformance, their parents and guardians are now contemplating to either move court or approach the Union Ministry of Human Resource for justice.

73 students of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee have been expelled for underperformance by the management on Wednesday. These students were in their first year of the B Tech course in the institute.
