Driving Licence Without Test

Under the new rules notified by the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, the accredited driver training centres can issue driving licences to eligible candidates after successful completion of training.

According to the Motor Vehicles Act 1988, one must hold a permanent driving licence if he or she wishes to hit the road without any unnecessary hurdles. However, to get the licence, one must go through the driving test either online or offline.

The Central Bureau of Investigation or CBI has registered a case against unknown officials of the Regional Transport Offices or RTOs in New Delhi for issuing driving licences to applicants without conducting a driving test.

People in Haryana can now obtain their driving licence by applying online and also without undergoing medical test, an official said on Tuesday.
