Supreme Court dismisses Jagan's plea against his arrest

The Supreme Court today dismissed a petition of YSR Congress leader Y S Jaganmohan Reddy challenging his arrest in a disproportionate assets case. A bench of justices Aftab Alam and Ranjana Prakash Desai, however, sought response of CBI on a separate petition by Mr Reddy, who is an MP, seeking bail in the matter.

The Election Commission of India on Tuesday refused to intervene in YSR Congress Party leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy's arrest by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), party sources said.
