A senior officer of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) was killed in a gunbattle with Naxals in Bihar's Jamui this morning. Hira Kumar Jha, the second-in-command of CRPF base in Jamui, died in the anti-Naxal operation that took place in the Lakharia forest region.

Seven people were killed today in a landmine blast by suspected Naxals in Obara area Bihar's Aurangabad district, police said. The incident took place about 50 km from district headquarters, at a small bridge.
