Lokpal Bill: PM snubs Anna, says 'approach statutory authorities'

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has written back to social activist Anna Hazare asking him to approach the statutory authorities with his grievances. Yesterday, miffed over the Delhi Police putting restrictions on his August 16 fast over Lokpal Bill, Anna had written a letter to the Prime Minister asking for help.

After the venue, it is now a tussle over the duration of Anna Hazare's fast. The 74-year-old Gandhian has said he will fast for 30 days for a "strong Lokpal", but the Delhi Police says it can make arrangements only for three days. Team Anna has called this a "government game plan."
