The All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) today expressed serious reservations over the Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Marriage) Bill which was passed by the Lok Sabha and said it will take steps through democratic means to "amend, improve or scrap" it.

Triple Talaq: Supreme Court Says Will Focus Only on 'Legal' Aspects

The Supreme Court will only examine triple talaq - the practice of Muslim men getting an instant divorce by saying "talaq" three times - from a legal perspective and steer clear of aspects in the legislative domain, such as bringing in a uniform civil code, under which divorce under Muslim law would have to be supervised by courts.
