Bopanna-Lu enter Tashkent Challenger quaters

Tashkent: Second seeded pair of Rohan Bopanna of India and Hsun Yen Lu of Taipei survived a set point to scrape past Deniss Pavlovs of Latvia and Vaja Uzakov of Uzbekistan to move into the doubles quarterfinals of the $1, 25,000 Tashkent Challenger, an ATP Challenger series event being played at the Olympic tennis Stadium.

In the first round match the second seeded Indo- Taipei pair of Bopanna and Lu survived a match point trailing 10-9 in the match tiebreak, to scrape past Pavlovs and Uzakov 6-4,6-7(3) 12-10 and enter the last eight in a 1 hrs and 20 minute battle.

The other Indian pair of  Somdev Devvarman and Purav Raja fell to the Spanish pair of  Inigo Cervantes Huegun and Guillermo Plaso. The Spanish pair won 3-6, 6-3, 10-4 in the first round.
