Preview: The two sides of Force

Directed by Nishikant Kamat, the John Abraham and Genelia D'Souza starrer Force is all set to hit the big screen this Friday, September 30.

A remake of Gautham Menon's 2003 Tamil film Kaakha Kaakha, Force is a lethal combination of action and romance.

An earlier plan to remake Kaakha Kaakha in Hindi with Sunny Deol in the lead role had failed to take off.

John leaves his Jhoota Hi Sahi avatar far behind and dons the role of a tough officer, ACP Yashvardhan.

Yashvardhan is the man who will ensure that justice is served, even if it requires unconventional means.

Newbie Vidyut Jamwal, plays Vishnu, the villain.

Genelia plays Maya, John's love interest.

Yashvardhan now has to choose between busting a drug cartel, or a sedate life with Maya.

This decision changes everything!

The film also stars Raj Babbar and Mohnish Bahl in key roles.

John Abraham hopes that Force helps him get recognition as an action hero though he is not ready to give up his romantic image on screen.

"Action does not mean that we leave the romantic image. Force has a lot of action backed by very strong emotions. I think it's a beautiful romantic-action film. I don't want to remove the tag of a romantic hero and I think it is always going to be with me," John told reporters.

John is confident that Force will remind audiences of action flicks such as Ghatak and Ghayal.

"We just feel that this film has raw, real action... last time you saw real action was probably when Sunny Deol used to do Ghatak, Arjun Pandit and Dacait. I think the masses like hard-hitting action... that when you punch someone, he is completely injured," he added

Flexing his muscles in real life, John recently performed a stunt where he picked up and threw a 115-kg bike.

Recreating a scene from the film, where he picks up a bike weighing 150 kg, he said "The bike that I picked up today was about 115 kg in weight. It was difficult. But as I weigh 88 kg I can pick up anything." .
