The Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula 1 Team has teamed up with Sting Energy, the high-voltage energy drink by PepsiCo. The partnership, set to begin in 2026, was revealed in a unique digital campaign where the F1 car delivered the news.
In a precision-tuned lap, the car's engine roar was manipulated to spell out “STINGGGGGG.” Sting Energy shared the moment on Instagram, writing: “We just did something never done before. We let a Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team car make our announcement FOR us. Yes… the car spoke. Yes… it sounded like STINGGG. And yes… Sting Energy is now the Official Partner of Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 team.”
The Silver Arrows F1 team commented, “Stingggggggg. Buzzing for this.”
The collaboration is expected to bring “more energy, more speed, and a deeper connection between fans and the team” during race weekends. Toto Wolff, Team Principal and CEO of Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team, commented on the new partnership.
“Welcoming a company with a portfolio as strong as PepsiCo's into our partner ecosystem is another sign of the strength of our team and our sport,” Mr Wolff said.
“As a brand, they align perfectly with our ethos of chasing ultimate performance through innovation and excellence. Gatorade's expertise in sports science, Sting's youthful energy, and Doritos' cultural relevance each bring something unique. Together, they create a partnership that not only supports our team's performance but also enhances the experience for our fans around the world,” he added.
Richard Sanders, Chief Commercial Officer of the F1 team said, “We're delighted to welcome PepsiCo to the team. Their expertise in this sector will help us deliver great experiences for our guests and fans at the track and beyond.”
