Kim Kardashian, please note - this is how the internet is broken. A dress, or rather #TheDress, is raising a storm in a tweet-cup because nobody, absolutely nobody, can decide what colour it is. Social media has run through a whole spectrum of emotions in the Great Dress Debate.
For more than 24 hours now, people across social media have been arguing about whether a picture that's gone viral shows a dress that is blue with a black lace fringe or white with a gold lace fringe.
The picture was initially posted on Tumblr by 21-year-old singer named Caitlin
McNeill, who asked for help in deciding what colour the dress was as she and her friends couldn't agree. Twitter rushed to help and soon #TheDress was trending worldwide.
At first, it confused social media:
Soon, it was ruining partnerships personal and professional:
It inspired a lot of memes too:
Some pointed out that the Earth was still spinning:
Friendships other than Caitlin's took a hit:
Some people turned to science and reason:
And finally, they gave up. They just wanted to kill the dress:
According to Mashable , the dress can be bought from British clothing retailer Roman Originals and costs £50. And well, it seems the dress isn't available in white and gold.
