Mumbai:
A 17-year-old girl is suspected to have committed suicide by jumping off the terrace of a building in suburban Malad on Saturday, police said.
Though some locals said that the girl had fallen accidentally while flying kites, the police claimed that they did not find any kites or the string-roll on the terrace.
The girl, identified as Vidhi Mehta, was the resident of Trimurthi Apartments at Jakarta Road, and was studying in 11th standard.
Police said that Vidhi's father, Ritesh is a businessman while her mother is a house wife.
Police have registered a case of accidental death and sent the body to Bhagwati hospital for postmortem. No suicide note has been found.
