In an interview with InStyle.com, Mandy Moore said, "There is a reason that I am 40 years old now and I feel the most comfortable in my skin. Because there is no substitute for wisdom and clarity that comes with age and time."

Mandy Moore is already a mother to two boys; August Harrison was born on February 20, 2021 and her second son, Oscar Bennett Goldsmith was born on October 21, 2022.

While interacting with InStyle.com , Mandy was asked, "You're currently expecting your third child, your first daughter. Has this pregnancy felt different than your other pregnancies?" To which, she replied, "I am incredibly grateful to my body. It only feels different in the sense that I have two little guys to chase around. It's a bit more exhausting than the first two go-rounds, but we're managing. I'm almost there."

Mandy further discussed how she and her husband Taylor Goldsmith discussed the possibility of trying IVF for her third pregnancy saying , "Before this pregnancy, my husband and I were talking about the possibility of a third, and last summer, we tried to do a round of IVF that didn't produce any embryos. So, I said to him and to the universe, 'Okay, well, that was sort of our insurance plan and it didn't unfold the way that we expected, and that's totally okay. So, if down the road we decide we want to have another one and it happens, great, and if it doesn't, I think we both have to be at peace with that and we're incredibly blessed to have these two little boys in our family."

She opened up on how they naturally conceived their third child, "The universe just decided to have her way, and this little girl came into our lives, and we're incredibly grateful for that as well. I went to the doctor after I was pregnant to make sure it was a viable pregnancy, and he said, 'Your egg count is extremely low.' Some women have their egg count slowly decline, and then some people just...the bottom falls out, they fall off the cliff. And he was like, 'You're kind of the latter, so this is your shot of having a third kid.'"

She spoke about their IVF journey and how each couple's experience is different, saying, "Everybody's journey is a little bit different. I've watched so many friends go through the IVF journey, and I thought, I'll follow suit and be able to have this insurance policy so if we do decide to have a third, I'll be able to do it whenever I want." Mandy further added how she and her husband Taylor failed at IVF but finally conceived their daughter naturally, saying, "That wasn't the case, but she decided to come another way, and we're really grateful. Even in that case, I was continuing to learn about my body and how it functions, and the fact that I lucked out and had that good egg that month and that's why I'm here."

Mandy spoke to InStyle.com about the experiences and challenges she faced during her previous pregnancies and the expectation to move on with life like nothing had happened. "The world at large is not there for women to support them during such a consequential time in any sense, and it can be a really lonely place," Moore says about struggling with "bouncing back" mentally after giving birth. "I remember being so mind boggled after giving birth to Gus, my first kid, and I went back to work. Just the fact that people were like, 'How are you? How's it going?' We as mothers are just sort of expected to be like, 'Good. Everything's great. It's amazing.' It's like, we're just expected to move on", she said.

Mandy Moore's pregnancy number three sheds light on how motherhood can be fulfilling as one grows older.
