
It doesn't get any better than snuggling up under a blanket with TV show reruns while it's raining outside...or does it? With a warm beverage nestled between your hands it certainly does. This season, while it pours outside fix yourself one of these 4 beverages and indulge in TV time or a girl's day in.
1. Golden Milk
It doesn't get any more classic that time-tested haldi doodh, does it? Golden milk (also called turmeric tea) is an upgraded, spicier version of it that'll lend a tasty hit and do wonders for your health too.
Ingredients:
1 cup milk
Quarter teaspoon crushed black pepper
Quarter teaspoon cinnamon powder
2 tablespoons turmeric powder
Pinch of ginger powder
Honey or brown sugar to taste
Method:
To a cup of hot milk, stir in the pepper powder, cinnamon powder, ginger powder and turmeric powder till blended well. Add honey or brown sugar based on your taste and consume hot.
2. Apple Cinnamon Tea
A single sip of this tea will transport you to autumn straight away.
Ingredients:
2 cups water
1 teaspoon ginger powder
1 teaspoon cinnamon powder
1 apple, sliced
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Honey to taste
Method:
Bring water to boil on the stove. When it bubbles, add all the ingredients in and turn off the gas. Allow it to sit for 10 minutes, strain the liquid and serve hot.
3. Spicy Hot Chocolate
Instead of going down the regular chocolate route this season, give it a sweet and spicy kick with chili.
Ingredients:
1 cup milk
Quarter teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons cocoa powder
Quarter teaspoon cinnamon powder
Quarter teaspoon chili powder
Sugar to taste
Method:
Bring milk to boil on the stove. When it bubbles, add in all vanilla extract, cocoa powder, cinnamon powder and chili powder and turn off the gas. Add sugar, stir till blended and serve hot.
