Kolkata:
Arijit Nandi, a man in his mid-30s and a resident of Baranagar in Kolkata, jumped on to the tracks of the Metro Rail today and died. The incident happened a little after 10 am.
He jumped at Shyambazar Station before a train heading to Kabi Subhash or Garia Station which is in south Kolkata.
The reason of the suicide is not known yet. The police are investigating the case.
Train services were disrupted at 10:13 am for about an hour during which time Metro ran truncated services between Girish Park and Kabi Subhash stations. Services were restored at 11:10 am.
