Kolkata:
A young couple tried to commit suicide along with their baby daughter at the Writers Building in Kolkata this afternoon. They tried to pour petrol on themselves but were stopped by the police before they could set themselves on fire.
Sanjib and Shilpa Pal were distraught after Sanjib was fired from the jewelry shop where he worked after being accused of theft.
Their baby, Swati, is 15 months old.
The family is from Barrackpore.
