A Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus driver was mercilessly beaten up and assaulted after he overtook another vehicle in a dangerous manner in Pallakad.
Following this, the group of people waylaid the vehicle at the Olavakkode area and the driver was beaten mercilessly.
Three men barged into the driver seat and thrashed the driver. Even as the driver went down bleeding, the men continued to attack him. The conductor and other passengers tried to intervene to control the situation.
The Hemambika Nagar police have detained three people in the case.
Meanwhile, the driver has received injuries on his nose and is undergoing treatment.
