A live worm was allegedly found in a customer's sandwich at the PAUL restaurant in Gurugram, raising concerns about the restaurant's hygiene practices. A video recorded by the customer showing the crawling worm has since gone viral.
The incident happened when the customer, Sulabh Mathur, visited the PAUL outlet at One Horizon Centre on Gurugram's Golf Course Road for breakfast.
The video uploaded by Mathur shows that he had already eaten almost half the sandwich before the worm was discovered. In the video, a white worm can be seen crawling on top of the meat sandwiched between the bread buns.
"Shocking incident at Paul's, Horizon Centre today. We went for breakfast around 11 AM and ordered 6-7 dishes. We were horrified to find a LIVE WORM." Mathur wrote while sharing the video on his Instagram handle on Friday.
Several social media users expressed shock over the incident in the post's comment section, while some shared their own bad experiences in the restaurant.

Mathur shared a follow-up post where he uploaded a screenshot of a conversation with the restaurant management reaching out to him to apologise.
"Sharing the response from PAUL India team. They are trying to apologise and move on. Feels like a standard draft reply from them. Since many of you have also shared similar experiences at PAUL outlets, it seems they don't take things seriously at all," Mathur wrote while sharing the screenshot.
The incident comes as several food businesses face action over alleged hygiene and food safety violations in Maharashtra, following an intense crackdown by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
