Truck Crushes 8-Year-Old To Death In Maharashtra, Mob Burns It Down

An eight-year-old boy was crushed to death by a speeding truck in Maharashtra's Jalgaon, leading to tensions in the area on Monday. The boy was returning from a temple after offering prayers during the ongoing Kanwar Yatra.

The incident happened near Praja Nagar on Jalgaon's Mamurabad Road. Following the horrific collision, an angry mob torched the truck to protest the minor's gruesome death.

According to eyewitnesses, the eight-year-old had gone to a temple on the Mumrabad Road that was being frequented during the Kanwar Yatra. Right when he came out of the premises after offering prayers, the speeding, out-of-control truck rammed into him. He died on the spot.

The tragic incident created a massive commotion on the road, and soon an enraged crowd began to gather in the area. Outraged by the incident, the angry mob placed the boy's body on the road, and set fire to the truck.

Upon receiving information, a heavy force of police was deployed to the spot. The fire brigade reached the scene, too, to douse the blaze and control the escalating situation.

Meanwhile, the truck driver also sustained minor injuries in the accident. Sensing the seriousness of the situation with the mob, he was admitted to the hospital for treatment.

However, the angry crowd protested the move and demanded that the truck driver be immediately brought to the scene and handed over to them.

The situation was so tense that the mob prevented fire personnel and police from extinguishing the fire as the truck burned away.

A heavy police force has been deployed in the area to bring the situation under control.

Traffic on the Mumrabad Road was also delayed due to the violence that followed the accident.
