As the stand-off between the government and Anna Hazare continues, we asked our surfers whether they agreed with Anna's fast. Here are the top ten comments:
Siam: If we really love India, one has to believe in our legislators. If our legislators failed to make strong and good laws, it is we the people who decide their fate after every five years. Anna Hazare must remember that "to change the system, one has to be in the system".
Prakash: We have seen so many PMs, and none of them had guts to take this initiative and Annaji is doing it in a right way. We have rights to strike against corruption anywhere and anytime. They cannot stop!! Bhart matta ki Jai..
VG: Everyone wants the Parliament to pass the Lokpal bill but it needs to be a bill for the people we do not want a bill that does not end corruption which the govt has introduced
Dinesh Boomi: When Government is able to give police protection for party general public meetings with lakhs and lakhs of people...It is strange why the govt is restricting Anna that he can protest only with 5000 persons...I totally disagree that govt did this to maintain peace.....
Binu: I believe PM is absolutely right on the Lokpal bill and its proceedings in Parliament and people with differences should raise it before the standing committee but don't agree with the arrest.
Ravi: The government is continuing its efforts to whitewash the issue of fighting corruption - first by trying to introduce a weak Lok Pal bill and now saying Anna was posing a threat to the country!
Jaimin: Mr. PM Jan Lokpal bill is not by Anna alone..... it is voice of whole India. and in any democracy people's voice is more powerful than parliament.
Ravi Teja Nidumolu: The PM is right. I completely agree with him. Anna holding the government to ransom is not justified.
Shekar: No anna does not represent the voice of all people. If he feels so let him and his aides stand for election we need good people like him in Parliament and then he can fight for the bill.
Prasanna: If the govt is thinking that peoples mandate are with them and their bill and not with Anna's Lokpal Bill then they should have ask for nationwide voting on this instead of spreading unrest in the country.
