Srinagar: Martyrs' Day observed as separatists call protest march
Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah laid a wreath in memory of the 21 people who were killed by troops of Maharaja outside Central Jail in Srinagar in 1931, as the city observed Martyrs' Day on Tuesday.

The Chief Minister had indicated during the weekend that the situation in the Valley was under control and the state government would consider the option of withdrawing the Army after Martyrs' Day.

Separatists in the Valley called for a march from Naqashband sahab to Eidgah grounds. Curfew or curfew like restrictions are expected to prevent separatists' march.
