RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat will be in Ahmedabad today on the occasion of Varsh Pratipada Utsav or Hindu New Year.
He will address a gathering later in the day, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh state spokesperson Pradip Jain said.
"While the Sangh does not believe in praying to an individual or commemorating a day, this remains the only day in a year when we salute our founding father Hedgewar before saluting the saffron flag. On other days, we start our day by saluting the saffron flag," said Mr Jain.
