Rana knew in advance of 26/11: Report

Chicago: A new filing by the US Attorney's office in the Chicago court on Monday has revealed that Tahawwur Rana knew of last year's Mumbai attacks in advance.

This is a crucial statement just before the Rana hearing, scheduled for Tuesday.

According to the filing, Headley and Rana took a long car ride in September this year, and discussed several topics. This conversation was recorded. During their conversation, both the men discussed the 26/11 attacks last year.

It was clear from the conversation and extrinsic corroboration that Rana was told just days before the Mumbai attacks that the attacks were about to happen, the filing said.

A retired Pakistan military officer told Rana about 26/11 in advance, it added.
