Congress chief Rahul Gandhi had won the Wayanad parliamentary seat by a margin of 4,31,063 votes.

Congress president Rahul Gandhi is on a three-day Kerala visit. He is visiting Wayanad now and is meeting party workers and citizens. This is Rahul Gandhi's first visit after he won the seat in the recently held Lok Sabha polls. He is expected stay in his constituency till Sunday. His schedule is packed with over 15 public receptions planned over the next three days. 

Rahul Gandhi had garnered 7,05,034 votes in Wayanad. He had won by a margin of 4,31,063 votes against his nearest rival of Left Democratic Front's PP Suneer. After the election result was declared, he expressed gratitude to the people of Wayanad for choosing him as their representative in the Lok Sabha.

  • The second day of Congress president Rahul Gandhi's tour of Wayanad began with blessings from well wishers at Kalpetta.
  • He arrived at the MP facilitation centre in the district collectorate in Wayanad and accepted memorandums and complaints from the people.
  • Representatives of farmers, tribals and other marginalised sections of the high-range constituency were among those who visited and told him about their issues.
  • The Congress chief also held discussions with the local representatives, party leaders and officials of the district and collected information on various pressing issues of the Parliamentary constituency, which is spread across the north Kerala districts of Wayanad, Malappuram and Kozhihode.
  • Rahul Gandhi reached the district headquarters along with Kerala party leaders, including Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee   president Mullappally Ramachandran and Leader of Opposition in the Kerala Assembly Ramesh Chennithala.
