The political crisis in Maharashtra triggered by Ajit Pawar's rebellion in his uncle Sharad Pawar's Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) entered Day 4 on Tuesday. In the latest development, the two rival camps have called meetings of their MLAs on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the faction led by Ajit Pawar - the state's new Deputy Chief Minister - inaugurated a new party office near the secretariat. His camp's Praful Patel, an MP, today questioned the Opposition's chances in the next year's national elections, during an interview with NDTV.
On the other side, NCP founder Sharad Pawar today asked those who "betrayed" his ideology not to use his photograph.

Congress Wants To Tour Maharashtra Together With Sharad Pawar, Uddhav Thackeray
Supriya Sule Invites NCP Workers To Meeting Chaired By Sharad Pawar TomorrowSupriya Sule, in a video message posted on Twitter, invited all NCP office-bearers and workers to a meeting to chaired by Sharad Pawar tomorrow at 1 pm. "Pawar Saheb is going to guide all office-bearers and workers tomorrow to give further direction to our Nationalist Congress Party," she said in her tweet in Marathi. The meeting will be held at Yashwantrao Chavan Centre in Mumbai.

A clash broke out between the supporters of the two factions of the NCP outside the party office in Nashik today. Both factions raised slogans. Those backing Sharad Pawar claimed they were being stopped from visiting the party office.
Both NCP Factions To Convene Crucial Meetings Tomorrow
Both factions of the NCP are going to hold separate meetings tomorrow. Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar will chair a meeting with MLAs and state and district chiefs of his faction at 11 am. Meanwhile, Sharad Pawar too has called a meeting of all leaders at 1 pm.

NCP national president Sharad Pawar has called a meeting at 1pm while the Ajit Pawar faction, which has aligned with the ruling Eknath Shinde-Devendra Fadnavis dispensation, will have its meet at 11am, functionaries from both sides said.
This will be the first meeting involving all functionaries for both factions since the party split on Sunday after Ajit Pawar and eight MLAs, including Chhagan Bhujbal, Dilip Walse Patil and Hasan Mushrif, joined the Eknath Shinde government.
