Kanpur:

Shivam Mishra, son of businessman KK Mishra, has been named in the Kanpur Lamborghini accident, a day after the speeding vehicle injured six people. A Lamborghini Revuelto crashed into pedestrians and parked vehicles in Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur on Sunday, and the First Information Report (FIR) was initially registered against an “unidentified” person. The outrage pushed the police to add the tobacco baron's son's name to the FIR.

According to the investigation officer, probe into the case established the Shivam Mihsra was present at the spot.

"We have added his name to the FIR," investigation officer told NDTV.

According to eyewitnesses, the driver, Shivam Mishra, was drunk and was driving the luxury car, a Lamborghini Revuelto, at a high speed on Kanpur's VIP Road.

Mishra junior allegedly tried to flee the scene with the help of his bouncers, who were following him in another car, but was stopped by passersby.

What FIR States

According to the FIR, filed by Taufiq Ahmed, he was waiting for his friend when a speeding Lamborghini crashed into a Royal Enfield motorcycle parked nearby and then hit him. Ahmed was thrown several metres away and suffered serious leg injuries.

Instead of stopping the car after the collision, Mishra allegedly tried to flee the scene. In a video of the incident, Mishra's bouncers, who were following him in another car, are seen pulling him out of the driver's seat and trying to protect him. They allegedly misbehaved with the public.

Passersby reportedly smashed the Lamborghini's windows and pulled Mishra out. The police arrived soon after and rescued Mishra, shifting him and others to a private hospital.

The FIR filed on Sunday afternoon named "unidentified" person as the accused. The police, at the time of the accident, did find Mishra junior in the car and took him to the hospital. There is also video evidence showing Mishra sitting in the backseat of the car, being protected by his bouncers. But the FIR did not name him until the public outrage.

Who Is Shivam Mishra

This is not the first time Shivam Mishra has made headlines. In 2024, the Income Tax Department carried out raids on Banshidhar Tobacco Private Limited, the company headed by KK Mishra.

Reports suggested that the company declared an annual income of Rs 20 to 25 crore, while its actual turnover was estimated to be between Rs 100 and 150 crore.

At Mishra's residence in Delhi's Vasant Vihar, investigators seized a fleet of luxury vehicles, all bearing the number plate '4018'. The collection, valued at approximately Rs 50 crore, included a Rolls-Royce Phantom priced at around Rs 16 crore, a McLaren, a Porsche and a Lamborghini Revuelto -- the same Revuelto that hit pedestrians on Sunday.
