- Honeypreet Insan calls herself the adopted daughter of Gurmeet Ram Rahim
- Last seen with the jailed Dera chief soon after his conviction last month
- The 36-year-old has been charged with conspiracy to help Ram Rahim escape
The police are investigating lawyer Pradeep Arya's claim that Honeypreet Insan wants to surrender in Delhi, not Punjab or Haryana, because she fears a threat to her life from drug mafia there.
At 7 am this morning, a police team raided a bungalow in Greater Kailash-2 in south Delhi said to belong to Ram Rahim, a self-declared guru who had an outrageously flashy lifestyle before being sentenced to 20 years in jail for raping two disciples.
She has been charged with conspiracy to help Ram Rahim escape, and has been hunted for weeks by the police in Haryana, Rajasthan, Punjab, Bihar and all the way to the border with Nepal.
The Haryana Police had earlier sounded an international alert against all three.
Honeypreet Insan, who calls herself "Papa's Angel" on social media, has been by Ram Rahim's side since 2009 and has co-starred with him in five films he made.
Last week, Honeypreet's former husband Vishwas Gupta alleged that the father-daughter relationship is a sham and the two are having an affair.
