Underlining that he too wants justice, TVK chief Vijay on Thursday alleged "conspiracies" behind the tragic stampede in Karur and also in the release of his final fim 'Jananayagan'.

The stampede left 41 people dead and several injured at a rally in Karur addressed by Vijay on September 27 last year. The actor-politician, whose Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam or TVK is making its electoral debut in the April 23 Tamil Nadu Assembly polls, has been summoned twice by the CBI in connection with the tragic accident.

Vijay's farewell fim 'Jananayagan', which was set to be released on January 9, is still stuck with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). There were allegations that the film contains intense violence and certain references to the army, prompting calls that it be examined by subject experts before certification. Vijay has accused the BJP-led government at the Centre of indulging in a "blame game" over the delay in certification of his film.

It is to be noted that MK Stalin voiced support for Vijay's film and the actor has thanked the Chief Minister for that.

"All have formed alliance and joined together to oppose me. I don't want to explain how everyone is opposing your Vijay. From Karur conspiracy to our last movie 'Jananayagan', they had opposed thinking it would change into a weapon in this election. I, who have come to ask justice for you, also want justice," Vijay said at an election rally after filing his nomination papers from Tiruchirappalli East Assembly constituency.

Vijay is contesting his first Assembly election from two urban constituencies - Perambur in Chennai and Tiruchi East. He filed his nomination papers for Perambur on Monday.

The TVK leader is set to face a high-stakes contest in Tiruchirappalli East against incumbent DMK MLA Inigo Irudayaraj and AIADMK's K Rajasekaran.

The main electoral contest in the state is expected between the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK)-led Secular Progressive Alliance (SPA), and the NDA led by AIADMK. However, Vijay is hoping to make it a three-way contest.
