Mumbai:

Actor Rhea Chakraborty, who was questioned by the Narcotics Control Bureau for two days straight as part of an investigation into an alleged drug angle in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case, has again been called for questioning tomorrow. The NCB investigation is a separate case registered by the agency.

The 28-year-old was questioned for several hours today at the agency's office in the Ballard Estate area, where she reached around 9:30am escorted by police personnel.

The NCB had earlier told the court that Ms Chakraborty would be confronted with her brother Showik, Sushant Singh Rajput's house manager Samuel Miranda and cook Dipesh Sawant to ascertain their roles in the alleged drug racket.

Showik Chakraborty and Samuel Miranda have been charged with the anti-drug law by the NCB and sent to the agency's custody till Wednesday. Though no drugs have been found on Showik Chakraborty yet, he has been sent for a medical examination again today.

The NCB's case hinges on 59 grams of curated marijuana found on alleged drug peddlers Abbas Lakhani and Karan Arora who were arrested earlier, and have now been granted bail. More seizures were made from Anuj Keshvani based on the disclosure from Kaizan Ibrahim, who according to the NCB is another drug peddler who supplied marijuana to Showik Chakraborty and Samuel Miranda through Abdel Basit Parihar.

Keshwani is under examination for questioning, the NCB said releasing a statement detailing the drugs seized from him: "In continuation of operations against the drug syndicate, a raid was conducted in Mumbai by Mumbai Zonal Unit, NCB. The following drugs were seized: 590 gms of hashish, 0.64 gm of LSD sheets, 304 gms of marijuana, including imported marijuana joints and capsules, Rs 1,85,200 in cash and 5,000 Indonesian Rupiah."

The quantity of LSD that has been recovered is commercial quantity under NDPS Act.

Till now, a total of nine people - Abbas Lakhani, Karan Arora, Zaid Vilatra, Abdel Basit Parihar, Anuj Keswani, Kaizan Ibrahim, Showik Chakraborty, Samuel Miranda and Dipesh Sawant - have been arrested in this case till now.

The Narcotics Control Bureau first started looking into the Sushant Singh Rajput death case started after WhatsApp chats retrieved from Ms Chakraborty's phone by the Enforcement Directorate revealed an alleged conversation between her and a contact saved as "Miranda Sushi" - believed to be Samuel Miranda - about procuring drugs.

Ms Chakraborty had earlier said that she has "never consumed drugs in her life" and claimed she tried to stop her friend and actor Sushant Singh Rajput from consuming marijuana. In an interview to NDTV, Ms Chakraborty said she is ready for a blood test.

The actor's and her family have said a "simple, middle-class family" was being targeted as part of a "witch hunt" and were being vilified by the media. After Showik Chakraborty's arrest, his father had said that he was now expecting the arrest of his daughter.

The death of 34-year-old Sushant Singh Rajput and its various angles are being investigated by three central agencies -- the Central Bureau of Investigation and the Enforcement Directorate along with the Narcotics Control Bureau -- after a huge legal and political battle. The Mumbai Police was also investigating the case through inquest proceedings but the Supreme Court handed over the case to the CBI while saying there was no fault in the Mumbai Police probe as far the material before them was concerned.
