The Prime Minister said after a cabinet reshuffle today that he expects his coalition government to be re-elected for a third consecutive term. "We will have a third go as the UPA and the people will again repose their faith in us," Dr Manmohan Singh said.

PM: I'll be very happy for Rahul Gandhi to step in to my shoes.Rahul Gandhi should lead UPA. He can take over.  Rahul  Gandhi is a natural leader of the Congress.

In additions to Ms Vyas, with an eye on Rajasthan polls, Congress has inducted Sisram Ola , a prominent Jat leader from the state.

Cabinet reshuffle to take place today; Mallikarjun Kharge likely as Railways Minister
New faces are likely to be inducted in the Manmohan Singh cabinet today. When the BJP was going through a bitter divorce with their 17-year-old ally in Bihar, the Congress party yesterday announced its new team for Mission 2014 - perhaps to signal that the party is ready for the challenge.

Congress announces key organisational changes: Full list
The Congress today announced several changes in its organisational structure ahead of a Cabinet reshuffle tomorrow. C P Joshi and Ajay Maken have been named General Secretaries of the party.

Congress' Janardhan Dwivedi  briefs the media about the changes in Congress organisational structure - CP Joshi and Ajay Maken named General Secretaries of the party.

"Each general secretary has been given a zone. Rahul Gandhi is going to oversee frontal organisations. There are two attached General Secretaries - Prabha Kishore and Suraj Hegde."

Ahmed Patel will contiune as Political Secretary to Sonia Gandhi, Ambika Soni will be General Secretary in-charge of her office.

Oscar Fernandes, Vilas Muttamwar, Ghulam Nabi Azad and Birender Singh dropped as general secretaries.

Moti Lal Vohra continues as treasurer, Ajay Maken given charge of media and communications. He will be assisted by Priya Dutt.

BK Hariprasad: Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Odisha

Gurudas Kamat: Gujarat, Rajasthan, Dadra & Nagar Haveli

Digvijaya Singh: Andhra Pradesh , Goa, Karnataka

Madhusudan Mistry: UP, Central Election Committee

Luizinho Faleiro: Arunachal, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim. Tripura, Manipur

Shakeel Ahmed: Delhi, Harayana, Punjab, Chandigarh

Mukul Wasnik: Kerala, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu, Lakshwadeep

Mohan Prakash: Madhya Pradesh , Maharashtra

The much talked about reshuffle of the Union Cabinet will take place tomorrow, ahead of which CP Joshi and Ajay Maken stepped down as Cabinet ministers.

Both Mr Joshi and Mr Maken had handed over their resignations last night.

Their resignations were today accepted by President Pranab Mukherjee with immediate effect, a
Rashtrapati Bhawan communique said.

The reshuffle will take place tomorrow evening, a Rashtrapati Bhawan spokesperson said.

Cabinet reshuffle tomorrow; Ajay Maken, CP Joshi quit
President Pranab Mukherjee has accepted the resignations of Ajay Maken and CP Joshi ahead of tomorrow's cabinet reshuffle. Sources in the Congress say that in addition to changes in the cabinet, the party is also prepping for organisational changes.
