Anil Ambani a target for murder?
Mumbai:

Is Anil Ambani a target for murder? The Mumbai Crime Branch is investigating, just a day after his Bell chopper was found with gravel in its gear box.

Anil's company ADAG claims his business rivals are out to kill him and that someone at the company maintaining the aircraft was helping them.

In its letter addressed to the Maharashtra Chief Minister, Anil Ambani's ADAG says: "The planned manner in which the pebbles and gravel were put in the filler cap clearly shows that some persons, possibly business rivals, were attempting to take away the life of Shri Anil Dhirubhai Ambani. The incident could not have happened without the connivance of Airworks staff"--- R N Joshi, Senior Pilot, Reliance Transport & Travels Private Ltd.

Airworks is the agency contracted to maintain ADAG's aircraft. The company for its part has registered a police complaint.

"There were 7 pebbles in the oil tank of the gear box. We are investigating the case. We would not like to comment for now," said Somnath Guge, Senior Inspector, Mumbai Police.

Off the record the police insist that the episode was the result of a legal dispute between Airworks and its employees.

This is the fourth such incident in which an aircraft serviced by Airworks has landed in trouble. Four employees of the company are being questioned. In the meantime, the police has written to Airworks asking the company to beef up security around its aircraft.
