Is TB of the lymph nodes infectious?
Question
I have a 27 years old flat-mate. She is under medication for tuberculosis of the lymph node. As per her doctor, it is not active anymore but she has to continue the medication for few more months. I am worried about the spread of the infection. We live in the same apartment and share the same kitchen. Is it safe to live with someone infected with this disease?

You have no cause for worry. Lymph node TB is not infectious unless there is delayed treatment leading to a discharging sinus, and then too the disease is not very infectious. Also, respiratory involvement / symptoms ought to be ruled out and the patient should remain under the care of a doctor and take the medicines regularly.
