How can choroidal neovascular membrane scar be treated?
Question
I am a 40 years old man suffered from choroidal neovascular membrane (CNVM) 2 years back in the right eye. I took Avastin at that time. The blood dried but it left a scar on that place and I lost the vision of my right eye. Now I have developed black spots and lines in my other eye too, which is causing pain in both the eyes and I am facing problem in reading too. How can I save my left eye? Is there any treatment for the CNVM scar?

There is no treatment for CNVM scar. The Avastin, lasers, etc. will only reduce the size of scar. Please monitor your other eye on Amsler grid, every day. Get an fluorescein angiography (FFA) and optical coherence tomography (OCT) of the other eye done immediately. If FFA does not give adequate information, you may need indocyanine green (ICG) angiography. The earlier you get it treated, the better it is. Consider it as an emergency.
