Mumbai: The shoot of Rohit Shetty's Singham was stopped on Monday by the members of the Federation Of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) for non-payment of wages.

The FWICE members stormed into the movie's set at Film City and stopped the filming. They said that the shoot of the Ajay Devgn-starrer would not continue until the payments were made.

Prem Singh Thakur, chairperson, vigilance department, FWICE says, "We stopped filming until the workers are paid. The producers (Reliance) owe the workers over R 45 lakh. It is a small amount for the producers, but a substantial amount in wages for the workers."

Sanjeev Lamba, CEO, Reliance Big Pictures, admits there is a payment issue. "But our last schedule ended some time ago. The shooting was not stopped."

But he adds, "There was a confusion over the payment between the workers and the art director. We've now cleared the misunderstanding and also a large sum of the due money." Singham is a remake of a 2010 Tamil action flick starring south's superstar Surya and Anushka Shetty.
