Elton John worried for 21-month-old son Zachary safety
Los Angeles:
Music legend Elton John and his partner David Furnish have sold their Hollywood home as they think it wasn't suitable for their 21-month-old son Zachary.
The Rocket Man hitmaker has sold adjoining condos at West Hollywood's Sierra Tower for USD 4.65 million because of concerns about their son's safety due to the abode being dangerously high up", reported Radar Online.
"The reason behind John and Furnish giving up their West Hollywood condos is because they thought it wasn't a suitable place for a toddler to grow up in.
"They did love the home, but now they are parents they have to think more sensibly and it wasn't ideal for Zachary. The apartment was situated halfway up the Sierra Towers complex, so it was dangerously high up," said a source.
The passing of Eric Clapton's four-year-old son Conor -who plunged 49 storeys to his death in 1991 after falling out of an open window - is also said to have heavily influenced their decision to sell the condos, which were in Furnish's name and on the market since March.
The pair has since splashed out on a USD 7.65 million child-friendly home in Beverly Hills, which boasts three bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, a staff bedroom and bathroom, pool, a gym, floor-to-ceiling windows and white-oak flooring.
