In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Kaushal Kishore was elected from Mohanlalganj in Uttar Pradesh on a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ticket. He received 4,55,274 votes. His closest opponent was RK Chaudhary who received 3,09,858 votes. Kaushal Kishore won the constituency by a margin of 1,45,416 votes.
In 2009 general elections, the Mohanlalganj seat was won by Sushila Saroj of the Samajwadi Party (SP). In 2004 general elections, the Mohanlalganj parliamentary constituency was won by Jai Prakash of the SP and his runner up was Radhe Lal of the BSP.
The Mohanlalganj parliamentary constituency consists of five Vidhan Sabha seats: Sidhauli, Malihabad, Bakshi Kaa Talab, Sarojini Nagar and Mohanlalganj
Voting for the Mohanlalganj seat was concluded in the fifth phase of elections on May 6.
In the 2019 general elections, the BJP has fielded Kaushal Kishore. The Congress candidate is RK Chaudhary and the Mahagathbandhan has fielded the BSP's CL Verma.
