In 2009 general elections, Ramkishun from Samajwadi Party had won the Chandauli lok sabha constituency. He won 180114 votes. His opponent was Kailash Nath Singh Yadav from Bahujan Samaj Party. He received 179655 votes.
In 1971 general elections, Sudhakar Pandey from Indian National Congress had won the seat. In 1977 general elections, Narsingh Yadav from Bharatiya Lok Dal had won the Chandauli constituency.

Liyakat Ali is the only independent candidate contesting in the 2019 general elections for the Chandauli lok sabha constituency.
