The NTA has clearly mentioned in the UGC NET 2026 notification that no re-evaluation or re-checking of the result will be done, and no correspondence in this regard will be entertained by the exam conducting body.

According to the testing agency, the UGC NET candidates will be required to pay online an amount of Rs 200 per answer key challenged, as processing fee. 

Awarding Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) depends on the aggregate performance of the candidate in Part 1 and Part 2 of the UGC NET, the testing agency stated. Candidates qualifying under the ‘appointment as Assistant Professor and admission to PhD’ category will be eligible for appointment as Assistant Professor and admission to PhD but not for the award of JRF.

The testing agency will give an opportunity to applicants to challenge the UGC NET June 2026 answer key in case of discrepancies found, along with valid justification and proof. Candidates will be required to pay an amount of Rs 200 per answer key challenged, as a non-refundable processing fee. 

All representations received during the notified period will be examined by subject experts, and the final answer key and the UGC NET 2026 results will be prepared accordingly.

In a statement on X, the NTA said:

“Provisional answer keys for UGC-NET June 2026, CSIR-NET, and ICAR AIEEA (PG) and AICE (PhD) 2026 will be published on the official website this week.”

“Candidates will be able to view them, and to raise a challenge within the notified window. Detailed instructions will follow at the time of publication. Please rely only on official communications from NTA,” it added.

According to NTA, the objections raised through the answer key challenge link will be reviewed by a panel of subject experts.

The UGC NET June 2026 answer key PDF will contain the following details: 

1. Examination subject with code 
2. Examination date and shift of the UGC NET exam
3. Correction ID or Correct Response
4. Question ID

The National Testing Agency has advised the UGC NET 2026 candidates to download the response sheet for future reference. No copy of the response sheet will be provided by the NTA after the declaration of results under the RTI Act, the testing agency added.

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras has announced a revised schedule for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2027 registration. Candidates must keep the following instructions in mind while reviewing their answers:

• Question IDs will be given in sequential order, applicants are advised to review their responses as per the question ID.
• The ID next to the question under the column 'Correct Option(s)' stands for the correct answer key officially confirmed by the NTA.
• The dropped questions will be highlighted, and will not be available for challenges.

• Click on the link titled 'Challenge(s) regarding Answer Key'
• Log in using your credentials (application number and password)
• Click on 'View Question Paper' for marked responses 
• Now, click on the link indicating 'View/Challenge Answer Key' to view provisional keys and challenge the questions
• After selecting the desired option, scroll down, select 'Save Your Claims,' and move to the next screen
• Upload supporting documents and pay the required fee

The number of candidates to be qualified for Assistant Professor eligibility will be equal to 6% of the candidates who appeared in the NET examination (in both the papers) on the basis of their Master’s degree or equivalent examination, the official document stated.

The NTA will issue the attempted question paper of the candidates for the UGC NET June 2026 exam on its official portal, ugcnet.nta.nic.in. NET applicants must enter their application number and password to access their attempted question paper.

UGC NET candidates will be able to download the provisional answer key PDF from the official website, ugcnet.nta.nic.in.

The UGC NET exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency twice a year (June and December sessions). Once the exam is conducted, the UGC NET provisional answer key is released, followed by the final answer key and the UGC NET result.

The UGC NET June 2026 examinations were conducted at different locations throughout the country on June 22, 23, 24, 25, 29, and 30, 2026. The NTA also conducted a re-exam of the June 22 paper at the CT Group of Institutions exam centre, Jalandhar, on July 5, 2026.
