The students of Miranda House, Delhi University, protested against the "deteriorating quality of food" on Wednesday, according to a report by PTI. The videos of the protest circulated widely on social media, showing students banging plates on the hostel gate.
The girls residing in the Miranda House hostel reportedly walked out of the hostel mess carrying empty utensils. The videos circulated online on various platforms show the crowd continuously banging utensils on the gate, raising slogans against the food shortage. The students raised concerns over the poor food quality and the insufficient meal quantity. Students claimed that while the food quality had been an issue earlier, the situation has worsened in recent days.

Several reports suggest that the food quality has been deteriorating ever since the LPG crisis started. However, the college administration denied the allegation, stating that the protest was triggered by the students complaining about the overly spicy food.
The All India Students' Association (AISA), in a statement, expressed solidarity with the students, claiming that the students were forced to subsist on dry bread and "substandard meals."
