DU Admissions 2022-23: Delhi University has released the university's admission policy for the 2022-23 academic year. Vice Chancellor Yogesh Singh said that the eligibility will be decided on the basis of Common University Entrance Test (CUET 2022) marks. "The candidates will be able to appear in CUET only in those subjects which they have taken in class XII. The merit will also be calculated on the basis of combination of only those subjects in which the candidate has appeared in the CUET test," VC said. VC Yogesh Singh said that the admission to undergraduate programmes will be done through CUET 2022 only except the School of Open Learning and National Collegiate Women's Education Board. "It is mandatory for all the candidates to appear in CUET 2022 including those seeking admission to additional seats. The eligibility criteria will be decided on the basis of marks obtained in CUET," VC said. The candidates can appear for CUET in a maximum of six subjects out of which one must be a language subject. The best score will be considered for admission, added VC.

According to Dean Admissions Haneet Gandhi, CUET 2022 will consist of three sections in which the first section consist of two parts. The first part of CUET consists of 13 languages and 20 languages in the second part. " “It is mandatory for the candidates to appear in at least one language for admission to Delhi University, out of both these parts combined,” Gandhi said. “The second section of the entrance exam consists of 27 domain-specific topics. The third section is based on General Knowledge which will be for admission to BA Program only,” she said.

For admission in B.Sc programmes, the eligibility will be calculated on the basis of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Biology. However, 30 per cent marks in any language would be obtained as qualifying criteria. “For admission to Bachelor of Arts, a candidate will have to appear in the entrance test in any one language from section one and in any three subjects from the other section. Merit will be calculated on the basis of marks obtained by the candidate in the same subject and language,” said Gandhi. Candidates opting for language programmes, can choose a particular language or take test in any other language.

For the 50 per cent reserved seats in minority colleges, 85 per cent marks for admission will be taken from the CUET, and the remaining 15 per cent will be decided by colleges. "Admission to non-reserved 50 per cent seats will be on the basis of CUET," VC Singh said.

The candidates applying for the DU admission process need to register on the National Testing Agency website, after which they need to register on the DU website for centralised e-counselling. The DU admission portal link- admission.uod.ac.in will be live tomorrow, Singh said.
