Tremors felt in Delhi after major quake in Pakistan

New Delhi: Tremors were felt in the city this evening after an earthquake measuring 7.0 on the Richter scale hit Pakistan's Baluchistan area.

Met department said latitude of the quake was 27 degree North and longitude was 65.7 degree East.

It was at a depth of 10 kms at the epicentre in Pakistan, it said.

The temors were felt at around 5 pm. There were no immediate report of any casualties or damage.

Mild tremors were also felt in parts of western Rajasthan bordering Pakistan, but there were no reports of any damage, the MeT department said.

The quake was experienced in the border areas of Jaisalmer and Barmer, said SS Singh, director of Met office.

The quake was also experienced in parts of Punjab and Himachal Pradesh but no loss of life or property was reported, the local MeT office said.
