Teen Suspect In Pradyuman Murder Taken To School For Crime Reconstruction

Gurgaon School Murder Case: A CBI officer said the Class 11 student has been examined four times so far.

New Delhi: The Class 11 student suspected in the murder of seven-year-old Pradyuman Thakur was taken to Gurgaon's Ryan International School again today to help with the reconstruction of events. The boy's father has alleged that he has been tortured, "hung upside down and brutally thrashed".

Later, the juvenile court sent him to an observation home in Faridabad for the next two weeks.

Last week, the Central Bureau of Investigation, which is probing the case, said the teen had killed Pradyuman to ensure that the exams were postponed. Though the agency is yet to find clinching evidence, investigators have told a juvenile court that the teen had confessed to the crime in the presence of his father, independent witnesses and the member of a social welfare board.

On Thursday, the CBI had questioned the boy for six hours before taking him to some shops to find out where he could have bought the knife used to kill Pradyuman.

This morning, a 15-member team took the teen to the Ryan international school and went over the crime scene to reconstruct the events. Over the next four hours, they questioned staff members and teachers and examined a CCTV footage where the 16-year-old is seen accompanying the child inside the toilet -- something the Gurgaon police missed during its probe.

On September 8, Pradyuman, a student of Class 2, was found outside the school washroom. His throat had been slashed. Within hours, the police arrested Ashok Kumar, the conductor of the school bus, saying he had tried to sexually assault the boy and killed him when he faced resistance.

The CBI, which took over the case, had called the police version erroneous and presented a different version of the events.

In CCTV footage recovered from outside the school toilet, the teen was the last one seen leaving. He had allegedly told a teacher that he saw Pradyuman "vomiting blood".

The agency is also looking into the role of another student who was with the accused teen when he informed a gardener and a teacher about Pradyuman. The agency has recorded his statement but has not found his connection to the murder.
