Delhi businessman accuses Bollywood actor's manager of plotting attack to kill him

New Delhi: A 50-year-old businessman alleged the woman marketing manager of a noted Bollywood actor was behind an attack on him in Delhi today, police said.

Hardev Singh, who deals in tyres from his shop in Karol Bagh and has reportedly opened a production house in Mumbai, was attacked in his car by motorcycle-borne assailants near Desh Bandhu Gupta Road in central Delhi this morning.

In his complaint, Mr Singh said that the assailants intercepted him and fired twice. The bullet crossed both the windows of his car and pierced a concrete wall. Having failed to shoot him, the assailants fled.

Mr Singh, who claims to be a producer, said that he opened a production house in Mumbai and wanted to sign a Bollywood actor for a film. But the actor's marketing manager demanded Rs.10 lakh to fix an appointment.

"He suspected the manager for plotting the attack as he refused to give her money and tried to meet the actor in other ways," said a police officer by adding they were verifying the allegations.
