New Delhi:
Addressing a press conference this evening, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced a new mechanism to solve public grievances.
Following are the highlights of his press conference:
Many officers are honest, they did not get the chance to do good work. Only few bad fish in the pond
I congratulate the people of Delhi for stings conducted
They are very good anti-corruption inspectors, sting journalists
We will get a 4-digit number for the anti-corruption helpline by tomorrow or day-after
Public grievances are a big issue for the government; these are symptoms of the disease
Till be revamp the system, we have to solve grievances
From day-after, all ministers of the Delhi government will sit in front of the secretariat from 9:30-11:00 am
And then daily, one minister will sit there to solve grievances
Urgent grievances will be solved over phone immediately
New SMS-based system will be developed for the grievance compliance mechanism
The governance is so poor today that I fear there will be thousands of grievances - we plan to start with honest intentions and move along as we progress
Media is not allowed into the call centre so that it is not accessible to any of the corrupt officers
It is also for their own security
I have told the power department to take stock of scheduled and unscheduled power cuts. We have asked companies to submit details
We will upload the data on the website and will hold companies accountable for unscheduled power cuts
