Shillong:
Three undertrials managed to escape from a court here, police said on Tuesday.
The trio Hamios Lyngdoh, Ramesh Mamgar and Demand Marwein gave a slip to police and escaped from the court of Sub-Divisional Officer in Meghalaya's West Khasi Hills district on Monday.
The undertrials charged with various crimes including murder and theft were detained last year, they said.
Superintendent of Police M Kharkrang said an inquiry headed by the Sub-Divisional Police Officer has been ordered into the incident and departmental action will be initiated against the guilty police personnel.
