Seven booked for dowry harassment in Faridabad

Faridabad: Seven people have been booked for allegedly harassing and threatening to kill a woman over dowry demands. The people who were arrested on Friday from Faridabad, include the woman's husband Bhagat.

"Jyoti had registered a complaint that her in-laws were demanding Rs 3 lakh cash and a car as dowry since her marriage in May 2009," a police spokesman said.

The police have booked Bhagat, his parents Sohanlal and Amarwati, brother Naresh, and sisters - Lalita, Dayawati and Omwati - in the case, he said.
