Four-year-old boy's body found on train

Betul, Madhya Pradesh: In a frightful incident, when a traveller of the Indore-Chhindwara passenger train opened the berth of his first-class compartment, he found the body of a four-year-old boy crushed between the berth and the compartment wall.

The incident took place on Thursday when the passenger opened the berth near Kiratgarh station, the police said today.

The passenger immediately informed the train staff about the body following which the TT contacted the control room at Nagpur.

Nagpur Railway Police then informed their counterparts at Betul, Amla and Ghodadongri stations about the incident following which the body was taken out of the train at Betul railway station.

Autopsy revealed that the boy died nearly 24-48 hours ago and therefore it was suspected that someone might have kept it at the Indore railway station where the train remains stationary in the yard for long hours, police said.

It was not immediately known whether the boy was murdered or died of natural causes. Further investigations are on.
