Medical services are badly hit in Delhi's Safdarjung Hospital.

More than 500 junior doctors including post-graduate students, interns and junior residents are on a mass hunger strike since Monday.

They have been demanding better facilities in their hostels for over two months now.

A meeting between junior doctors and hospital administration on Monday, was inconclusive. The Principal even threatened to rusticate junior doctors.

But the doctors have decided to go on an indefinite hunger strike from Tuesday. They have also threatened to boycott Outpatient Department (OPD) services.
