Volkswagen Golf GTI To Be Launched On May 26, Here's What We Know So Far

Volkswagen is all set to launch the Golf GTI in India, the brand has locked May 26th 2025 for the official launch. The brand had opened the pre-bookings for the Golf GTI, on 5th May and the first batch of 150 units have already been booked. The Volkswagen Golf GTI will be arriving in India as a CBU. Further, the brand has claimed that the pricing details will be announced during the launch event.

Volkswagen Golf GTI: Engine And Powertrain

The upcoming Volkswagen Golf GTI is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine that works in conjunction with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and produces 265 PS of peak power and 370 Nm of maximum torque. It can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in just 5.9 seconds and boasts a top speed of 250 km/h.

Volkswagen Golf GTI: Exterior Highlights

The Volkswagen Golf GTI gets matrix LED headlamps, a larger honeycomb pattern air-dams that carry X-shaped fog lights. Also, the Golf GTI gets GTI-specific badges on the tailgate and the lettering on the sides, just below the ORVMs. The brand has equipped the Golf GTI with an 18-inch wheel setup, with an option to upgrade it to 19-inch wheels, twin chrome exhaust tips, roof spoilers, and smoked LED tail lights.

On the inside, the Golf GTI consists of leather-wrapped sports steering wheel with a GTI clasp,12.9-inch touchscreen and a 10.25-inch digital driver's display, a 12.9-inch digital instrument cluster with GTI specific graphics, 7-speaker sound system, panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, wireless charging feature and more.

The brand has not yet revealed the price of the Golf GTI in India and has slotted the announcement for 26th May 2025. However, it is likely to be priced around Rs 60 lakh.
