Shankar Mahadevan Buys New MG M9 Electric MPV Worth Rs 69.90 Lakh

Following veteran Bollywood actor and BJP leader Hema Malini, music maestro Shankar Mahadevan has added the MG M9 MPV to his garage. The luxurious seven-seat electric vehicle is sold at a starting price of Rs 69.90 lakh (ex-showroom) in the Indian market and recently went on sale in the country. The latest update was shared by the musician on social media with pictures of him taking the delivery of his new possession.

The video, which was posted on Instagram, shows Shankar Mahadevan along with his family members receiving their new car. We can see Shankar and his wife enjoying the comfort of the rear seats, while their children are busy exploring the in-cabin features from the front seats, alongside an MG employee.

From the visuals, it appears that Shankar Mahadevan has selected the Metal Black color for the MPV. In addition, the MPV is also offered in Pearl White with a Black Roof and Concrete Grey with a Black Roof. Furthermore, it gets a bold design with a bold front end, highlighted by a trapezoidal mesh grille that gives it a contemporary look, enhanced by split LED headlights and connected daytime running lights.

Inside, the MG M9 includes 16-way adjustable seating, 8 different massage options, along with heating and ventilation features. It also features a Yacht-style dual sunroof and 64-color ambient lighting, among other features. The vehicle is equipped with a 13-speaker audio system that includes a subwoofer and an amplifier, along with various other features. All these elements, particularly the comfort they provide, may be a significant factor in Shankar Mahadevan selecting the MPV as his new vehicle.

Shankar Mahadevan's MG M9 is equipped with a 90 kWh NMC battery that powers an electric motor delivering a peak output of 245 hp and 350 Nm of torque, claiming a driving range of 548 km. The manufacturer also provides an 11 kW wall box charger with standard installation, along with a 3.3 kW portable charger for this electric MPV.
