Royal Enfield has officially announced the 2026 edition of the Continental GT Cup, and the biggest highlight this year is the debut of the all-new Royal Enfield GT-R750 race prototype. The new race-spec motorcycle will be used in the Professional category of the championship, while amateur riders will continue racing on the existing GT-R650 platform. Registrations for the Continental GT Cup 2026 are already open (8th May - 31 May), and the championship is being presented by JK Tyre.
Royal Enfield GT-R750 Race Prototype
The new Royal Enfield GT-R750 race prototype marks a major step in the brand's motorsport journey. Built on a completely new platform, the GT-R750 has been designed specifically for track use and professional riders. Royal Enfield says the motorcycle has been engineered to offer sharper handling, better agility, and improved rider feedback on the racetrack.

The Royal Enfield GT-R750 race prototype features race-tuned suspension and braking systems, along with lightweight twin stainless steel exhausts. It also gets a new aerodynamic fairing designed to improve airflow and help riders achieve better straight-line performance on the circuit.
According to reports, the GT-R750 is powered by a new 750cc parallel-twin engine and delivers around 20 per cent more performance than the standard Continental GT 650. The motorcycle is also expected to use race-focused components like adjustable rearsets and clip-on handlebars.

Continental GT Cup 2026 Details
The Continental GT Cup has become one of India's most accessible racing championships over the years. Riders only need a valid driving licence to participate, making it an easy entry point into circuit racing. Royal Enfield says the previous season received nearly 6,000 registrations, showing the growing interest in track racing in India.
For the 2026 season, Royal Enfield has introduced separate grids for Professional and Amateur riders. The company says this move will make the competition more balanced and competitive for both categories.

The championship will also feature a prize pool of Rs 20 lakh, making it one of the biggest manufacturer-backed one-make racing series in India. Zonal selections and training sessions will be held in Guwahati, Delhi NCR, Pune, and Bangalore through May and June 2026.
